They Don’t Make Em’ Like They Use To.
My sister moved into an almost two-century old home. This home is one of the very first built in our family’s town, now surrounded by other homes. It once stood alone and is a land mark for the heritage charm that makes Alliston unique.
There is something an 185 year old home has that new buildings don’t… and I’ll show you what!
My sister and her family made the move two months ago and if you can believe it she did not have to buy a thing to furnish or accessorize! This home was meant for her style and it’s simply gorgeous – I’m sure the original owners would be proud.
A home built in the 1800s is chalk
full of charm and detail, no detail too small – including the hinges
and the knobs of every solid wood door.
Each window has 10inch detailed trim and foot high baseboard frames the oak wood flooring.
The staircase is straight out of an old fashion movie.
This home was always owned by a happy, loving, large country family and you can feel the warmth as soon as you walk through the door – it’s now the Fry home with many years of fun, laughs and celebrations to come!
